It is not easy to get to Sary Chelek from Bishkek via public transport. So we decided to hire a private car to get us there. It was agreed that the price would be USD80 for the entire car but when we get there, the driver demanded additional USD20. He claimed that the petrol was the additional cost to it. It took an average of 9 hours to get to Arkit, the closest town to the lake.
It was really a beautiful drive, passing through mountains and stopping at a yurt camp for lunch break.
